I also had the honour of serving in the 1st battalion of the grenadier guards in 1975 .

Just curious to know why they are reffered to as 'Irish' guards when the work for the british crown, and more than likely refer to themselves as British. Its mad to see British soldiers who wouldn't call themselves Irish, fight for a regiment that portrays itself to be Irish, when they are British
